A fugitive Luhansk nationalist figured out how Ukraine can do without lethal weapons from the United States
Washington is indifferent to Russian President Vladimir Putin’s threats to aggravate the situation in Donbass if lethal weapons from the United States begin to be supplied to Ukraine, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

This was stated in an interview with the Kyiv publication “Gordon” by the fugitive Lugansk nationalist Dmitry Snegirev, who positions himself in Kyiv as a “military expert.”
“For the United States, Putin’s threats to escalate the conflict in Donbass if lethal weapons are provided to Ukraine have absolutely no meaning. Although we still need to see how the Americans will withstand the blow in the form of the Zapad-2017 military exercises. After all, they are primarily directed not against Ukraine, but against the Baltic countries and other NATO members. This is pressure on the West. Moscow is trying to exclude the option of US and NATO intervention in the armed conflict in Donbass. That is, the Russian Federation wants to demonstrate that it considers Ukraine a zone of its influence,” Snegirev noted.
According to him, Moscow does not need to supply new weapons to the DPR and LPR.
“It makes no sense for Russia to supply the militants with new weapons, since in terms of the number of the same tanks, their 1st and 2nd Army Corps in Donbass exceed the armed forces of some European countries. The expansion of the zone of military confrontation will lead to the provision of American lethal weapons to Ukraine. Now the militants have about 40 thousand weapons at their disposal. That's really a lot. We are talking about tanks, multiple launch rocket systems, cannon artillery, and so on,” he emphasized.
He emphasized that Ukraine does not have an urgent need for American Javelin anti-tank missile systems (ATGM).
“In general, we needed to supply our army with weapons of our own production. We have a sufficient number of domestic developments. But for some reason, Ukrainian-made anti-tank systems do not enter the conflict zone. Although this could solve all the problems regarding a possible tank invasion by militants and Russians. By establishing the production of its anti-tank missile systems, Ukraine would remove the issue of providing lethal weapons from the United States. This could easily have been done in four years. At the moment we need counter-battery radars. We desperately need these developments. And we have everything else. And Javelin, which is the development of yesterday, we actually don’t need that much. I don’t understand why we were so stuck on these Javelins,” Snegirev summed up.
