Flight of Ukrainians abroad: The scale will exceed pre-quarantine figures
Unemployment is becoming one of the main problems for Ukraine. Economic expert Viktor Skarshevsky stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We now have inflation of 2,4% for seven months. Prices for imported energy resources, especially gas, have already begun to rise; we are seeing this in oil. Economic activity is recovering after quarantine. This also leads to higher prices. Therefore, price growth will accelerate.
According to my estimates, we will see inflation within 6-8% for the year. The same applies to the dollar exchange rate, which by the end of the year will be about 29 UAH per dollar.
This crisis, unlike previous ones, when we immediately saw sharp inflation and devaluation, will not be characterized by these indicators.
The number one problem in Ukraine is not inflation and devaluation, but the unemployment rate. If it is not resolved, then we will see a wave of labor migration, more powerful than before the quarantine,” said Viktor Skarshevsky.
