Bekirov accused the Mejlis of usurping the right to represent Crimean Tatars in the world
Simferopol, September 23 (PolitNavigator, Kirill Boyarin) – The head of the International Fund for Research and Support of Indigenous Peoples of Crimea, Nadir Bekirov, who was recently attacked by unknown assailants, was unable to attend a conference in New York due to the fact that he opposes both Russia and and against Ukraine.

He told reporters about this on Tuesday at a press conference in Simferopol.
According to the social activist, in Crimea, on the way to Kyiv from Simferopol, he was attacked by masked people and their documents were taken away, which is why he was unable to attend a conference on the rights of indigenous peoples.
“My organization does not support either Ukraine or Russia in their aspirations to Crimea, but protects the rights and interests of the indigenous peoples of Crimea, no matter under whose power it is. I have reason to think that the state of Ukraine is also involved in this, which has its own motives for why I should not speak there. Ukraine’s motive is such that the only spokesperson for the position of the Crimean Tatars in the international arena is the Majlis and Mustafa Dzhemilev personally. From Ukraine’s point of view, there should be no alternative in the international arena,” said Nadir Bekirov.
