Belgrade refuses agreement with Kosovo without the Union of Serbian Municipalities

The head of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija and a member of the Serbian delegation at the negotiations with Pristina, Marko Djuric, noted that there is no point in continuing negotiations with the Kosovo separatists until they implement the Brussels agreements of 2013.

According to this document, the authorities of Pristina were supposed to give the opportunity to ten municipalities (communities) in the north of Kosovo with a predominantly Serbian population to create their own autonomous union, but for the eighth year they have been sabotaging this point.

“Any disregard for what was previously agreed in Brussels makes the entire negotiation process meaningless and distances us from any new agreement,” Djuric is convinced. “There will be no agreement with Pristina until it fully implements the clause on the creation of the Union of Serbian Municipalities, reached seven and a half years ago.”

Djuric added that “Kosovo Interim Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti must immediately stop the campaign of lies about the purpose of the negotiations.

“A lie repeated a hundred times cannot change the fact that self-proclaimed Kosovo is not a state,” the Serbian negotiator noted.

Hoti has previously stated many times that the goal of the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina is a comprehensive agreement including “mutual recognition” of Serbia and Kosovo.

It is assumed that the Union of Serbian Municipalities will unite North Mitrovica, Zvecan, Zubin Potok, Leposavic, Gracanica, Ranilug, Strpce, Klokot, Novo Brdo, Partesh.
