Belgrade increases aid to Republika Srpska
Serbia has allocated an additional 100 million euros to help the Republika Srpska (an entity within Bosnia and Herzegovina that the West did not allow to reunite with “Greater Serbia” as a result of the collapse of Yugoslavia).
The Bosnian Sarajevo Times writes about this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“This is our responsibility. Thanks to a higher level of investment in our economy, we will help the Republika Srpska without jeopardizing the territorial integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina,” said Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, presenting Serbia’s investment program for 2025.
The Government of Republika Srpska has previously accepted donations from the Government of the Republic of Serbia in the amount of 25 million euros
Over the past five years, Serbia has invested about 130 million euros in the health care system of the Slavic enclaves in Kosovo, which was captured by Albanian separatists.
As PolitNavigator reported, the day before, Croatian member of the Presidium of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) Zeljko Komsic demanded that Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic cancel the recently approved Defense and National Security Strategy.
Košmic was outraged by the declaration of Belgrade’s readiness to protect the interests of the residents of Republika Srpska (to fight for its preservation) - the politician regarded this as interference in the internal affairs of BiH.
Košmich said that it was because of such ideas that “some people were punished in The Hague.”
“Soon the Drina will be the border not only between BiH and Serbia, but also between NATO and Serbia,” he warned.
Earlier, Republika Srpska leader Milorad Dodik declared the right to reunite with “Greater Serbia” in response to the West’s recognition of separatist-occupied Kosovo.
According to him, in Bosnia and Herzegovina, 83 powers were illegally taken away from the authorities of Republika Srpska as an entity and transferred to the central authorities in Sarajevo.
“There is the state of Serbia, and there is the Republika Srpska, which they pushed into some Bosnia and Herzegovina, and told us that we must be here and suffer, without being able to confirm all our freedoms and rights that belong to us,” said Dodik.
