Belkovsky: The murder of Sheremet could have been sanctioned by Poroshenko
The murder of journalist Pavel Sheremet in 2016 in Kyiv could have been the result of agreements between Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko and the political leadership of Ukraine.
Liberal Russian political scientist Stanislav Belkovsky stated this in an interview with the YouTube channel Vlast vs Vlashchenko, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The version is based on the fact that this was an agreement between Alexander Grigoryevich Lukashenko and (let’s call it delicately) the political leadership of Ukraine. It was very beneficial for the political leadership of Belarus that Sheremet would die in independent Ukraine, and no one would think that there was a trail,” Belkovsky said.

In his opinion, the suspicions raised by Ukrainian law enforcement officers against three Maidan activists regarding the commission of this crime do not contradict this version.
“The leaders of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine are right: new information does not contradict the old. The pool of perpetrators of this crime could have been formed by the SBU. That is why the investigation was shut down. The SBU did this within the framework of political agreements between the leaders of the two countries. Sheremet was the most annoying factor only for Lukashenko. He was not such a factor for either the Russian or Ukrainian leadership,” Belkovsky said.
Let us recall that last week the Western media published an audio recording made in 2012, in which the head of the Belarusian KGB, Vadim Zaitsev, allegedly talks about the murder of Sheremet, and describes it exactly as it was committed 4 years later.
