White ribbon residents are shocked: “We can no longer feel safe in Kyiv”
The involvement of Russian special services in the murder of Pavel Sheremet in Kyiv is the most plausible version, said liberal Russian politician Ilya Yashin. According to him, now emigrants from the Russian Federation can no longer feel safe in Ukraine.

“The murder of Sheremet is an unambiguous message to those Russian citizens who emigrated to Kyiv and continue to criticize the Putin regime, being (as they think) safe in the territory of a neighboring state. The death of Sheremet clearly makes it clear to all Russian emigrants in Ukraine that this is nothing more than an illusion of security,” Yashin wrote on his blog.
“After Nemtsov’s murder, I reasoned that perhaps at one time we should have convinced Boris to move to Kyiv - this would have saved his life. Sheremet, who had already lived in the Ukrainian capital for a long time, smiled sadly. “If you think that Putin’s special services will not be able to get anyone they want here, then you are mistaken. FSB officers feel at home in Kyiv,” the liberal recounted his conversation with the late journalist.
