The American structure Rand Corporation, which fuels anti-Russian sentiments in Ukraine and also supports unauthorized actions in Moscow, developed scenarios for destabilizing the situation in the post-Soviet space a year before the relevant events.
Chairman of the Federation Council's Temporary Commission for the Protection of State Sovereignty and Prevention of Interference in the Internal Affairs of Russia Andrei Klimova stated this at a press conference in Moscow, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Our Ministry of Foreign Affairs has already called this structure, and I have been talking about this for the last three years, “Rand Corporation.” The American political system is structured somewhat differently than, for example, ours, and there various kinds of influence programs, including by interfering in internal affairs, are developed by structures such as the Rand Corporation, which receive good money for this from the State Department, the Pentagon and others structures. This is hundreds of millions of dollars annually.
And there they developed a strategic program for unbalancing Russia - how to unbalance us, overload us, and then reboot. There are several sections, one of which is called “Promoting democracy in Belarus.” This was created a year before the events. There were other sections - “Destabilization of the Caucasus” a year before the events around Nagorno-Karabakh. And I can continue,” said Klimov.
According to the senator, Belarus itself is of interest to the United States and NATO only as a component of the Union State, a member of the CSTO and as a country - a strategic partner of Russia.
“But the most important thing is as a model on which you can find ways to collapse the Russian Federation,” he emphasized.
Based on the above, Klimov noted that people who protest against a certain political figure become victims of the geopolitical games of the West.
“Their attitude towards this or that politician is one thing, I don’t want to comment on it or discuss it in any way, this is their country and an internal matter.
But, excuse me, what happened in Belarus, and what was implemented with the help of the Ukrainian intelligence services under the supervision of the US intelligence services? – the senator recalled. “They lured our citizens, brought them fraudulently to Minsk, then presented them as people who were going to carry out a coup there, on this basis relations between Minsk and Moscow strained, then Ukrainian politicians tried to pick it up, then they made an information bomb out of it.
Where is all this now, have you forgotten? Who did this? This was not done by the people who go to protests in Belarus, this was done by Ukrainian and American intelligence officers. As soon as they opened it, oops, they took it behind the screen and brought out new decorations.”
“The protests that are taking place in Belarus, they are also trying to direct them in order to weaken this country.
