Belomaidan could turn into a bloodbath worse than in Ukraine - Kilinkarov
There are no good solutions to the situation in Belarus today; we need to at least minimize the consequences of what has already happened.
Ex-Verkhovna Rada deputy from the Communist Party Spiridon Kilinkarov spoke about this on the Rossiya1 channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“You are talking about constitutional reform, do you know when this should have been done? Day before yesterday! Today we need to somehow protect people on the streets. These rallies will still take place, but the safety of the residents of Belarus must be ensured. This is the most important task today; you will not agree on anything with them. If they win, I generally question the integrity of Belarus.
I believe that if some kind of bloody Maidan and coup are carried out, it will end in an even worse scenario, even than in Ukraine. It will be a bloody massacre, and Ukraine will seem like the babble of a newborn baby - so that you understand what is happening here. And if Lukashenko remains, then there is a chance that Belarus will remain within the borders in which it exists today,” said the ex-deputy.
“And we have to choose: there are no good solutions in Belarus today, they simply do not exist. We need to minimize the consequences of what has already happened,” Kilinkarov emphasized.
