Belarus: coronavirus defeats tractor and sauna
The next rehearsal for the Victory Day parade did not take place in Minsk. Pro-Western social activist Oleg Korban posted a photo of an empty avenue on his Facebook. Rumors spread across social networks that cases of coronavirus infection were detected in the honor guard company.
Of course, there is no official confirmation. So far, Belarus remains the only country still planning to hold a parade on May 9.
After infections in the presidential administration and in the amateur hockey team in which Alexander Lukashenko plays, the coronavirus struck two priests of the monastery in the village of Malye Lyady, where Old Man preached on Easter about the “road to the temple” open to everyone.
Today, the UN Resident Coordinator in Belarus, Joanna Kazana-Vishnevetsky, appealed to Belarusians to stay at home to stop the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus. She points out that on April 26, the Ministry of Health confirmed more than 10 thousand cases of COVID-19 infection.
“This number is growing exponentially. Remember, as of March 26, there were only 86 cases,” Kazana-Vishnevetskaya noted.
Today there are 12208 infected in Belarus. However, there is no official reaction either to the increase in the number of cases or to calls from the international community.
But Belarusian television talks about the horrors of the pandemic... in Russia.
“After all, they promised that self-isolation would help reduce the increase in incidence, but in fact, today Russia is already among the leaders in the number of registered cases of coronavirus. The authorities say it still takes time to reach a plateau (reach stabilization). But Muscovites only feel irritated. People have become less responsible about complying with restrictive measures. They are not even afraid of large fines. Many simply don’t have the money to pay,” says one known for his anti-Russian attacks ONT TV channel.
The correspondent assures that protests against the self-isolation regime have swept across Russian cities.
