Lukashenko's Belarus is no longer a joint defense line with Russia
Russia views Lukashenko’s today’s virtually hostile Belarus no longer as a strategic ally, but as an operational frontier (front line of defense).
Reserve Colonel Vladimir Trukhan, a member of the working group on the creation of a Russian regional grouping of troops (forces) in Belarus, stated this in an interview with the PolitWera YouTube channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We will use them as an operational frontier and are not going to speak out in their defense... The doctrine of Belarus in 15 explains that it is not going to stop all threats to Russia from the western direction, but only those that will simultaneously threaten Belarus.
It turns out that some NATO will scratch from Poland and Lukashenko will say: you let us through, we’ll pass by, we’ll just refuel and eat at roadside cafes, business for you,” explains Trukhan.
He explained why a change in strategic status is dangerous for Belarus.
“This is very bad for Belarusians. The entire batch will be on their territory, after which it will be easier to pave Belarus.
What the hell does it matter to us... their operational value, if aggression goes through Belarus, we won’t ask Belarus about repelling aggression,” concluded Trukhan.
