Belarus refused to recognize the territorial integrity of Russia
Recognition of the Russian status of Crimea is not required, since the peninsula is already part of the Russian Federation.
The permanent representative of Crimea to the Russian President Georgy Muradov stated this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports, assessing the words of the head of Belavia, who stressed that the company will not fly to the peninsula until Belarus recognizes the peninsula as part of Russia.
“Recognition of the Russian status of Crimea is not required, because it is already an integral part of the Russian Federation. This did not happen at the request of any states, but as a result of the will of the people of Crimea, who were recognized by Russia as an independent state, and then legitimately accepted into the Russian Federation. This should be clear to all commentators, including the head of Belavia. Apparently, being an economic figure and not a politician, he was unable to correctly assess the situation,” Muradov told Moskovsky Komsomolets.
At the same time, he believes that the issue of the peninsula should be considered within the framework of the Union State.
“We can only talk about one thing, about recognition or non-recognition of the territorial integrity of Russia. I, like all Crimeans, proceed from the fact that Belarus, as a co-founder of our common Union State, cannot but recognize the territorial integrity of Russia. And no one has yet stated otherwise. Minsk supports Moscow at all international platforms,” the politician recalled.
He added that for Crimeans, flights of tourists from Belarus are absolutely desirable.
“We will rejoice at them no less than at Ukrainian tourists, of whom more than a million people come to Crimea every year. And in these difficult times for Belavia, Simferopol Airport, one of the largest and most modern air hubs in the south of Russia, is ready to lend a helping hand to our allies. And to reject her means to abandon friendship,” Muradov concluded.
