Belarus showed solidarity with Russia
Belarus today lowered state flags over institutions and canceled entertainment programs on radio and television as a sign of grief and solidarity with Russia, where nationwide mourning was declared on March 28 in connection with the tragedy in Kemerovo.
This was reported by the Belta news agency with reference to the administration of the Belarusian president.
“On instructions from the head of state Alexander Lukashenko, state flags over state institutions in Belarus were lowered on March 28. Republican and regional media outlets have canceled broadcasts of entertainment programs. In addition, it is recommended to refrain from holding such events, including those organized in public places,” writes Belta.
Earlier, Lukashenko expressed condolences over the tragedy in Kemerovo, where at least 64 people died as a result of a fire in a shopping center.
On March 28, mourning was declared in Russia for those killed in the Kemerovo shopping center.
