Belarus blames Russians for bloody fireworks display
Two Russians, employees of the Piro Ross company from Sergiev Posad, have been charged in the case of There was an emergency at the fireworks show in Minsk on July 3, when a woman died from a shrapnel wound and 10 more people were injured.
The Investigative Committee of Belarus reports this on its official website, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The detainees were charged with violating the rules for handling explosive substances and pyrotechnic products, which negligently resulted in the death of a person.
However, the head of design bureau No. 3 of Piro-Ross OJSC, Andrei Inkin, stated that his employees did not touch the shells for the fireworks, but only agreed on its script. All manipulations were carried out by the Belarusian military.
At the same time, the warranty period of the gun from which the volleys were fired was expired.
“The warranty period for the self-propelled launcher is 10 years. After which a major overhaul or factory maintenance is required. We delivered SPU to Belarus in 2008. Perhaps the Ministry of Defense of your country independently carries out maintenance of these installations, but we proposed to carry out maintenance in the factory, that is, at our base in Sergiev Posad. Apparently, the Moscow Region budget does not have funds for this. Although every year they purchased charges for a substantial amount,” Inkin said in an interview with Belarusian journalist Viktor Malishevsky.
As PolitNavigator reported, during the fireworks in honor of the Independence Day of Belarus in Minsk, explosions occurred in three of the six places where the fireworks were carried out. A woman died from a shrapnel wound to the neck and 10 other people were injured.
