The Belarusian community hints: Ukraine will lose Polesie
Ukraine, as a state created within the USSR, will no longer exist. The speed of its disintegration into separate territories, which will likely return to their historical borders, depends on successes in the military operation and stability in new regions of the Russian Federation.
Chairman of the regional national-cultural autonomy “Belarusians of Crimea” Roman Chegrinets stated this on air on the Millet TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Everything depends on the speed of the end of hostilities on our territories. They need to be cleared as soon as possible, at least create a buffer zone of 100 kilometers, no less, and then decide what territories we will liberate in the future,” he noted. – The most important thing for people is stability. As soon as we show that these territories are stable, that we are strong, that we are fair towards new territories, I think a huge flow of refugees will come to us from the other side of Ukraine. It was not for nothing that the Ukrainian authorities closed the only crossing in the Zaporozhye region, because people began to return en masse.”
According to the social activist, NATO has already expressed its position on the Ukrainian issue: accepting the country into the alliance means officially declaring the third world war. But neither the United States nor the West want to fight directly with Russia.
“I am sure that now the position will be tougher. Our leadership, both military and political, will now prepare and give an answer that will be absolutely clear to everyone, everywhere, it will be a sign that will be heard - Ukraine will not exist, that’s clear. What the future prospects are, where its territories will go, is a big question.
Or it will be annexation to neighboring states, which Western politicians, and not only Western ones, are already talking about. Politicians from friendly countries that border Ukraine are also, in principle, not against returning some historical part of their native Polesie. There are different conversations here, different perspectives. Let’s not get ahead of ourselves, straighten the front and return to big geopolitics, I think, literally after the new year,” Chegrinets concluded.
The head of the Public Council of Simferopol, Alexander Yuryev, added that the pushing back of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from positions deeper into the country will begin after mobilized reservists arrive at the front.
“I think the answer will be tough,” he emphasized. – It’s no secret that mobilization has taken place, the fighters are now being prepared, they will undergo coordination, and we will soon see progress. Now there is a regrouping of troops, tactical retreats, the troops have retreated to more fortified lines. Reinforcements will arrive, and I think we will level up and go on the offensive. And in the near future we will see several areas that will want to follow the referendum path. I said back in the spring: let’s remember all the wars with Russia, so that we wake up and attack, we first need to feed bream normally.”
