The Belarusian opposition is controlled by Lukashenko, but sponsored by the West
Spontaneous popular unrest caused by the deteriorating economic situation is more likely in Belarus than organized by the local opposition.
Belarusian anarchist Nikolai Dedok stated this in an interview with the Russian website “Situation,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Today, I am sure, the liberal opposition is not able to organize any serious protests (unlike Navalny in Russia) or even saddle spontaneous popular protests. So far, today, the picture that emerges is that the regime will fall more likely from spontaneous popular uprisings (like 1917) than from targeted actions of the opposition,” Dedok said.
He divided the Belarusian opposition into moderates and radicals. Moreover, the first, according to Dedka, is directly or indirectly controlled by the authorities.
“They have serious resources and support from the West - i.e. they were the first to see through the Western trend towards dialogue with Lukashenko and began to receive grants for the policy of dialogue, and not for the policy of regime change, as was the case in the XNUMXs. Most of the Belarusian opposition is pocket-sized. It’s just that the degree of pocketability varies,” Dedok said.
