Belarusian oppositionist emigrant Olga Karach, who previously announced a “tank attack” on President Lukashenko on May 9, decided to temporarily cancel it. Instead, she delivered an ultimatum to the self-proclaimed “leader of the Belarusian nation” Svetlana Tikhanovskaya, who has recently been advocating negotiations with the authorities.

Karach stated this in her video blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Yes, May 9 would be an ideal day. But in principle, any day is good for overthrowing Lukashenko. Belarusians must set a people's deadline for Alexander Lukashenko and, oddly enough, for Svetlana Tikhanovskaya - until May 9. If negotiations do not begin before May 9, then for all of us it will mean that they will never begin. We cannot wait for months and years,” Karach said.

She referred to the words of Tikhanovskaya’s advisor, Franak Vecherka, who announced on social networks and in the Polish media that negotiations would begin on May 9 and last until August. They will supposedly be held under the patronage of the OSCE. Vyachorka called Russia the main obstacle to resolving the crisis in Belarus.
Karach agrees to wait “a couple of weeks” for the start of negotiations so that “there is no split in the democratic forces,” but she forbade Tikhanovskaya’s team from making any concessions, because “all concessions are only from Lukashenko and nothing else.”

“I don’t want that instead of Lukashenko leaving, negotiations would be held about the registration of Viktor Lukashenko’s party or the release of some political prisoners. Let’s set a clear deadline for negotiations, so that later it won’t turn out that in September and October, after aimlessly waiting for negotiations all summer, we will discover that Lukashenko did not expect anything, has strengthened himself and is definitely staying,” Karach said.

On March 29, she announced that on May 9, Lukashenko would be overthrown using military equipment.

“Since May 9, the scenario for Day X is interesting because it is the Ceausescu scenario. I think you don’t need to explain what kind of scenario this is, because today not all people in the security forces agree to tolerate everything that happens in the country... On May 9 there will be a parade, and there will be a lot of military equipment on the streets. And now different people are working to ensure that this very military equipment (not all) is driven by people who are on the side of the Belarusian people,” Karach said then.

It is worth noting that at that moment she was sure that a high-ranking KGB officer had fled from Belarus with important documents. A few days later it became clear that the negotiations on the transfer of documents were a game of the Belarusian intelligence.
