The Belarusian opposition is scaring Ukraine with the success of integration with the Russian Federation
Russia will use its successes in the process of integration with Belarus against Ukraine.
The Belarusian liberal politician and economist, ex-candidate for the presidency of the Republic of Belarus in the 2010 elections, Yaroslav Romanchuk, stated this in an interview with the Kyiv online publication “Apostrophe,” PolitNavigator reports.
“If the government of Vladimir Zelensky is defeated, especially in the economy, supporters of reintegration in the post-Soviet space will have an argument. Like, look, Belarus has joined Russia, and people live well. Propaganda clichés will sound - good roads, order, stability, peace. They will be additional arguments to convince Ukraine to follow not the European path, but in the direction of Russia.
They will say - look, the Belarusians did it and now their gas costs 150 dollars, and for Ukraine, say, 300. The energy policy is good, the enterprises are working. This will be done to show the advantages of cooperation with Russia in a new format,” Romanchuk said.
Therefore, according to him, the success of the new Ukrainian authorities is important for Belarus.
“The deeper Ukraine integrates into Europe and implements reforms, the greater the advantage of the free market and the more difficult it will be for Russia to absorb Belarus,” the Belarusian oppositionist noted.
