The Belarusian opposition claimed responsibility for the fire at the country's largest power plant
Belarusian political emigrant Olga Karach claims that the fire at the country's largest Novolukoml State District Power Plant is directly related to the formation of another opposition association - the Headquarters of the Joint Forces (SCO).
She posted a video of the statement on her Telegram channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Yesterday there were several accidents and forced outages of electricity and water in several cities. On Saturday, the formation of a political and civil entity began. It will be more interesting, it will be more fun. Let's go together until victory, don't give up. Everything is going according to plan so far. Slower than we would like, but according to plan. And faster than Lukashenko would like. Well, how can I comment on yesterday’s events? As one character said: Coincidence? I don’t think so,” Karach said.
Due to a fire at the Novolukoml State District Power Plant last night, rolling blackouts began, problems with water supply and cellular communications in the Mogilev, Vitebsk and Minsk regions.
According to the official report, the cause of the fire was abnormal heat. Electricity and water supplies were restored overnight.
Olga Karach has been prophesying on the Internet for several months now the imminent onset of “Day X” with Molotov cocktails and burning tires. She announced the blocking of roads and railways, the stop of the metro, the cessation of water supply to houses, the lack of Internet and the forced shutdown of enterprises, as well as massive mining. At first, Karach claimed that the “festival of disobedience” would take place before the meeting of the presidents of Russia and the United States, but then she postponed it until the formation of the SCO.
The association was presented in the form of a video conference of six people. Among them was psychiatrist Dmitry Shchigelsky living in the United States. It is noteworthy that he previously participated in a similar conference at which plans for an armed coup and the assassination of Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko were discussed. The video was shown on Belarusian state television after other plotters were arrested.
