Belarusian oppositionists no longer hide their Russophobia
In Belarus, the opposition to the current government is becoming openly anti-Russian and nationalist. This can be seen by how European Union flags are increasingly appearing at protests and calls are being made for breaking away from Russia and terminating the Union Treaty.
The co-chairman of the pro-Russian civil initiative “Union”, Minsk politician Sergei Lushch, said this on air on the Solovyov Live Internet channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“This is the formation of an anti-Russian force. On August 31, they make an important statement prepared in advance - a video recording of Babariko, and Kolesnikova announces the formation of the “Together” party. And we can now see from the dynamics of the protests how the rhetoric has changed. This was obvious to me to some extent, I was just waiting for at what stage the rhetoric of change, the rhetoric of transformation of some political dialogue would turn into narrowly nationalistic.
Today we notice this more and more often - flags of the European Union appear, a very pronounced geopolitical vector. There are no such direct statements yet, but there is already this feeling that both the coordination council and the personalities that were part of it are absolutely anti-Russian forces and those who stand behind them and provide them with support, including externally outline, but first of all, at least one of the tasks was set in this political strategy - the separation of the Republic of Belarus from the Russian Federation, the denunciation of the Union Treaty.
You remember, we widely discussed the program, which the Coordination Council hastily tried to remove and cover its tracks,” Lushch said.
As PolitNavigator reported, Belarusian Maidan activists switched to threats to the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.
