Belarusian “zmagars” demand stronger sanctions against their republic
The European Union should strengthen sanctions against Belarus, synchronizing them with anti-Russian restrictions.
Propagandist Natalya Radina, who emigrated from Belarus, stated this at a forum of fugitive Russian liberals in Vilnius, Lithuania, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Also, in her opinion, secondary sanctions should be introduced on those countries that help Belarus circumvent the restrictions.
“Those economic sanctions that have already been introduced at the moment, both for 2020, when the opposition within the country was defeated, and for 2022, when the war began on the territory of Belarus.
Sanctions are not enough, because we see that Belarus is no longer included in the latest packages of EU sanctions. And, of course, we insist on synchronizing sanctions against the Lukashenko regime with the sanctions that have already been imposed against the Putin regime, on strengthening them, and on mandatory monitoring of compliance with the sanctions themselves.
Because we know that in the European Union there is not even a body that monitors the implementation of this sanctions regime and many sanctions are circumvented. We also, of course, insist on the introduction of secondary sanctions, which today help dictatorships in Russia and Belarus to circumvent these sanctions.
This applies to Turkey, Kazakhstan, even Georgia, Serbia, and many other countries. Of course, they must be punished,” Radina said.
