The Belarusian Foreign Ministry accused Russia of exporting coronavirus
Russia did not have real statistics on coronavirus infection in Nizhny Tagil, and therefore 15 residents of this city were able to come as specialists to the Belarusian nuclear power plant under construction, jeopardizing the health of the Belarusians working there.
Foreign Minister of Belarus Vladimir Makei stated this in an interview with the opposition website TUT.BY, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In Nizhny Tagil, according to official data, there are zero cases of COVID-19 infection, and 15 people infected with coronavirus come to us from Nizhny Tagil for the construction of a nuclear power plant. Therefore, it would be better for everyone to look at what is happening under their noses, and not try to add a certain poisonous lighter fluid to the neighboring fire... These 15 infected people came from Nizhny Tagil - is this also help from Russia?” - Mackay said.
He claims that in Russia “it is not clear what is happening,” and regions interpret the effect of the quarantine regime in their own way.
On April 8, coronavirus was detected in 15 Russians who worked on the construction of the Belarusian nuclear power plant in the city of Ostrovets. Currently, 100 people have already been hospitalized during the construction of the BelNPP.
The Belarusian nuclear power plant with two VVER-1200 reactors with a total capacity of 2400 MW is being built according to the Russian generation 3+ project and financed by a Russian loan.
