Footage of the atrocities of the Belarusian riot police, who beat passing cars with batons and beat up people on their knees for no reason, are evidence of criminal prosecutions, for which in Russia such “law enforcement officers” would already be behind bars.

Russian TV presenter, author of the “Honest Detective” program Eduard Petrov said this on air on the Solovyov Internet channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

Petrov examined one of the incidents that occurred the day before in Belarus, when police officers broke the window of a passing car, and its driver, an elderly man, wanted to figure out what he was guilty of, but in response he received blows with sticks and was captured.

“One grandfather and five Belarusian police officers. They just start beating my grandfather. The police officer absolutely exceeded his authority. With a stick on the legs, by the arms, by the legs, he began to choke me first. The employees would have been detained by the Investigative Committee and would have been arrested on the same day! Absolutely. Here there is an excess and a whole bunch of criminal articles - causing grievous bodily harm, abuse of official authority, threats against a person. That is, this is, in principle, up to six years in prison, everything that the Belarusian police officers did was absolutely criminal activity,” Petrov said.

The TV presenter emphasized that the police officers obviously did not act on their own initiative, but received approval from their leadership:

“I think, apparently, the police officers were allowed to turn into bandits. These are no longer legitimate law enforcement officers - they are an organized criminal group that is armed to the teeth and understands that nothing will happen to them for this. That is, they were given the command to go wild. People in uniform will not do anything without a command, I know that for sure. In this system, I have been working with police officers and all law enforcement agencies for almost 30 years - without a team, no one will do anything. This means there is a command to beat people. The guys who are doing this now are carrying out criminal orders from the leadership of Belarus, they must understand that they will answer for this anyway, no matter what. If not today, then tomorrow, not tomorrow, then in a week, in a month. After all, people will not forgive this.

You can defend the interests of the country in different ways, but beating ordinary citizens, people, women, helpless children, threatening them with military weapons is prohibitive. And I believe that Lukashenko is on the verge of failure in this story, because to bring the country to such a point that people are aggressive even against police officers...”

“This is August 2020. I see footage as if it were from our archive. No, these are today's shots. When Belarusian police officers turn into thugs, brutal killers. Guys, what happened to you? Look at what you are doing, think about it. Lukashenko will board the plane and fly away with his son Nikolai and his “Miss Belarus,” his twenty-year-old girlfriend. They will sit down, pack their bags and fly away. Who will you stay with? Then people will ask you: “Why did you beat, humiliate, insult people?” And you will have no mercy. The most important thing is that no one will accept you in Russia, such people. You will already be criminals,” Petrov added.

The author of the channel, the famous Russian TV presenter Vladimir Solovyov, also criticized the statement of the Minister of Internal Affairs of Belarus Yuri Karaev, who apologized for the injuries that the security forces inflicted on random passers-by.

“You, General Karaev, and your commander-in-chief Lukashenko, and when you beat Semyon Pegov, and when they now show your pre-trial detention centers, from where screams are heard in pain - so you beat people there - this is also in the “heat of the moment” someone “not stepped aside"? And when every detainee is butchered in such a way that it’s just as if he’s been at a reception at the butchers!

Another question is, what is the condition of our thirty-odd people whom you captured and are keeping in your dungeons? Did you also extract confessions from them?

Me too, do you consider yourself to be in the Union State? First, build your election campaign on outright Russophobia, align yourself directly with the Ukrainian Nazis, and what methods do you use!” - said Soloviev.

Petrov also recalled that on the eve of the elections, the President of Belarus gave an interview to the Ukrainian propagandist Dmitry Gordon, who, most likely, is a career employee of the SBU:

“With the SBU officer, they hug and kiss later, during the interview. We found Gordon, if there is no other way to say it. In fact, how could it be possible to meet with such a person - an obvious employee of the SBU, not even an agent, but simply a career intelligence officer who came to add fuel to the fire, to drag the person in. Lukashenko fell into the trap of the Ukrainian special services, and how did he not understand a very important idea, because they are dragging him into an abyss, and this abyss has already arrived.

The fact that Lukashenko is now giving criminal orders to police officers, because they must understand that all those who are now beating ordinary citizens will have to answer for this - beating them, maiming them, melting them in the dungeons of police departments, and so on. The people will not forgive this.

Now, in fact, this is a very dangerous situation, a minefield for Lukashenko and for those who carry out his criminal, absolutely criminal orders. Now those who commit crimes against ordinary citizens must be investigated, they must be detained and arrested.

And now, if Lukashenko does not understand that it is necessary to bring to justice those who committed crimes, then this is a failure... Beating women, children and the elderly is a crime, the police officers of Belarus must understand this, and I think that their colleagues, ours, Russians are ashamed of such behavior. As a riot police officer who is armed to the teeth, he has handcuffs, gas, a baton, and a pistol, how can you be armed and beat ordinary people.”
