“Belarusian Pavlensky” pinned a badge on his naked body
Belarusian artist Alexei Kuzmich pinned a badge with the abbreviation BRSM (Belarusian Republican Youth Union) directly onto his naked body during the art event “Motherland-BDSM”.
He posted a video of the action on his YouTube channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Motherland-BDSM” is a discussion about the destructiveness of any ideological views in their extreme manifestations, through the elevation of an idea to a cult, where life is assigned a secondary role. Much attention in the action is directed towards the Public Organization “Belarusian Republican Youth Union”, as a successor to the Komsomol of the times of the USSR - a structure that shapes the modern ideological worldview of young people in the country and claims a monopoly in the formation of personnel for management structures and executive power in Belarus,” says the description of video
During the protest, Alexey burns his installation, blindfolds himself with a pioneer tie, takes off his shirt, pierces his bare chest with a pin with the BRSM badge, and then begins to raise his hand in a fascist salute.
At the same time, as it turned out, the artist wrote an application to join the Belarusian Republican Youth Union. The organization was happy about the new member.
“We never had rites of passage. But if Kuzmich is ready to come to the organization through pain and “purification,” then we will consider it. We always welcome truly creative guys,” said the first secretary of the Belarusian Republican Youth Union, Dmitry Voronyuk.
He is ready to recommend a good psychotherapist to the artist.
Previously, Kuzmich became famous for putting a “Ministry of Culture” sign on his erect penis and thus appearing at the opening of the “Presence” exhibition at the National Center for Contemporary Art in Minsk.
To keep the sign up, he took a Viagra tablet before the start of the action, which was called “Shield or Ministry of Phalloculture.”
