Belarusian politician recognized Crimea as Greek
Former Chairman of the Board of Belgazprombank Viktor Babariko, who has declared his intention to participate in the presidential elections, considers Crimea Greek.
This is how he answered a question from a correspondent of the Belarusian bureau of Radio Liberty, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“There is a very beautiful answer - Greek,” Babariko joked.
When asked how he felt about being called a “pro-Russian candidate,” the banker feigned misunderstanding.
“I don’t really understand what you mean by “pro-Russian.” I’m Viktor Dmitrievich Babariko, a Belarusian, I think that’s enough,” Babariko said.
The ex-banker is actively criticized on social networks by political scientists close to the current President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko. Babariko believes closer integration with Russia is economically determined and therefore inevitable.
