“Due to the discovery of eight cases of genetic material of the African swine fever virus (ASF) in finished Belarusian meat products, Rosselkhoznadzor is forced to introduce temporary restrictions on the supply of pig products from the entire territory of Belarus from April 10,” the message says.
It is noted that the restrictions apply to live pigs and their genetic material, pork and raw pork meat products, as well as offal, finished pork products or containing pork, raw materials from pork used for the production of feed, with the exception of goods processed using technology , which destroys the ASF virus.
In addition, the ban applies to the supply of wild boar meat, horned hoofs, leather, intestinal raw materials, bristles, hunting trophies from virus-sensitive animal species that have not undergone full taxidermy, and all types of pork feed and feed additives, except for additives of chemical and microbiological synthesis and finished feed that has undergone heat treatment.
“The restrictions will remain in effect until the epizootic situation is clarified, negotiations are held and regionalization is carried out by the veterinary service of the Republic of Belarus,” the department added.
