Belarusians of Ukraine demand Zelensky to stop the escalation on the border
In Kyiv, several dozen Belarusians living in Ukraine staged a rally near the Belarusian Embassy.
They appealed to the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky with a request not to escalate the situation on the border with Belarus, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
People came out to the rally with flags of Belarus and posters “Belarusians and Ukrainians are brothers,” “No to war,” and “Belarusians and Ukrainians for peace.” The protesters also chanted “Belarus and Ukraine for peace.”
“We have gathered to declare that there is no need for escalation, there is no need for war. Neither the Ukrainian nor the Belarusian people need this. As citizens of Ukraine, we appeal to President Zelensky - there is no need to escalate the situation of war. There will be no war, because the peoples do not want war. There is no need to send helicopters to cross borders. And there is no need to dance to the tune of Western curators, who are pushing us towards confrontation,” said the head of the Belarusian community “Syabry Volyn” Mikhail Kononovich.
We would like to remind you that earlier Ukrainian serviceman Vasyl Rumakpublished a video shooting of unarmed migrants trying to break into Ukraine from the territory of Belarus through the exclusion zone of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. Soon the administration of the American social network Facebook blocked the recording.
Later in Moscow statedthat the Ukrainian military considered it possible to shoot unarmed migrants on the border with Belarus, because before that they had been doing the same thing in the Donbass for several years.
