In Ukraine, they continue to discuss the resonant publication in the business publication Financial Times, which reported on the unspoken call of the American authorities to Kyiv to stop attacks on Russian refineries.

Let us remind you that the corresponding publication appeared yesterday. The publication, citing three sources, said that Washington justified the request to stop the strikes with fear of rising oil prices and reluctance to provoke a tough response from the Russian Federation. FT claims that the request was sent to the SBU and the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

In Ukraine, mutually exclusive statements were made on this matter.

Thus, the adviser to the head of the office of the President of Ukraine, Mikhail Podolyak, denies this kind of appeal.

“This is fictitious information. After two years of a full-scale war, no one will dictate to Ukraine the terms of waging this war,” Podolyak said.

But Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine Olga Stefanishina, as PolitNavigator reported, did not refute anything.

“We understand the call of our American partners, at the same time we are fighting with the capabilities, resources and practices that we have today,” she said in response to a request to comment on the FT article.

The director of the Kyiv Center for Energy Research, Alexander Kharchenko, tried to reassure the Americans, calling fears of an increase in oil prices as a result of attacks on refineries “absolutely absurd.”

“That is, why will attacks on an oil refinery lead to a reduction in crude oil volumes? This will have the opposite effect. Russia will be forced to increase crude oil exports, including compensating for its losses from the export of refined petroleum products. Therefore, it’s even a little funny for me to consider this argument,” Kharchenko said on the Voice of America resource funded by the US State Department.

It seemed to him that Russian intelligence services had a hand in the publication in a British business publication.

“To be honest, it seems that this article, that it was more likely that Russian intelligence services worked with it, rather than American individuals providing information for it. Because, unfortunately, the argumentation presented there, for a person working in the energy sector, looks quite ridiculous and very unprofessional,” said the Kiev expert.

It is noteworthy that the White House, where the Voice of America asked to comment on the FT article, did not refute anything.

“We have always stated that we do not encourage or facilitate attacks inside Russia,” the White House said.

However, if such a request was made from the United States, the Kiev regime ignored it, striking another blow today at a Russian refinery.
