The White House condemned the elections in the DPR - Biden
The United States condemns the intention of the DPR leaders to hold local elections on October 18, in accordance with the Minsk agreements.

Vice President Joseph Biden stated this in a telephone conversation with Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk.
“The Vice President strongly condemned announcements by separatist leaders about plans to hold elections on October 18,” the White House said in a statement.
Washington believes that this “is a direct contradiction to the Minsk agreements and Ukrainian laws.”
The White House also notes that the parties “discussed the reform program of the Ukrainian government and the US-Ukrainian business forum, which will take place on July 13 in Washington.”
“The Vice President welcomed the continuation of the process of constitutional reforms in Ukraine as a way of decentralizing power in accordance with the Minsk agreements,” the document says.
Let us recall that yesterday the head of the DPR, Alexander Zakharchenko, accused Kiev of unilaterally disrupting negotiations and imitation them, of ignoring the republics’ proposals for constitutional reform and introduced a special regime of local self-government on the territory of the republic provided for by the Minsk agreements and stated that local elections would be held on October 18 of this year.
