The White House refused to satisfy Zelensky

The United States once again stated that it will not close the airspace over Ukraine and supply Soviet combat aircraft there.

Press Secretary of the US President Jen Psaki stated this at a briefing at the White House, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

Psaki again confirmed that this could be the start of a new world war, and the United States is not interested in such a scenario.

“If we were President Zelensky, we too would ask for everything possible and continue to ask for it because he is watching his country and his people being attacked and brutalized by President Putin and the Russian military.

But the way President Biden makes decisions is through the lens of our own national security, and as we've said before, a no-fly zone will require implementation, it will require us potentially shooting down Russian planes, NATO shooting down Russian planes. And we are not interested in getting into World War III,” Psaki said.

She also refused to allow Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky to partially close the airspace over some regions of the country, which was called a “humanitarian no-fly zone”:

“The humanitarian no-fly zone can be a specific geography or part of Western or parts of Ukraine. From our point of view and from the military’s point of view, there is no difference in terms of implementation and escalatory impact.”

As for providing Ukraine with fighter jets, according to Psaki, this could also lead to escalation.

“Secondly, they have several squadrons of aircraft capable of carrying out missions,” the official concluded.
