The White House confirmed that Ukrainians are needed as anti-Russian cannon fodder
US President Joe Biden does not want to enter into direct confrontation with Russia and will therefore continue to send weapons, but not soldiers, to Ukraine.
White House press secretary Jen Psaki said this at a briefing in Washington, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The President continues to have no plans to send troops to fight a war with Russia. He doesn't think this is in the best interest of our national security, in the best interest of the American people. Our focus has been on providing this historic amount of security assistance - military assistance, weapons to the Ukrainians to help them effectively fight this war, as well as economic assistance.
It also strengthens their hand at the negotiating table, even as we impose a historic package of economic sanctions, which, as I noted earlier, even the head of the Russian Central Bank notes the devastating impact of these sanctions on the Russian economy. So that was our strategic goal. Of course, we support Ukrainians in every possible way. But the president is not going to wage war with Russia,” Psaki said.
She also emphasized that Biden does not plan to visit Kyiv on an official visit, despite the fact that he had previously expressed his readiness to do so.
Crimean blogger Alexander Talipov emphasizes that Biden, having been frightened on the eve of the Easter bunny (this video was actively spread across social networks), is now afraid of his visit to Kyiv:
“Joe Biden is very bad, after a mortal fright from a giant white rabbit, the decision was made not to take him on tour to Kyiv, since he may not survive the Ukrainian fantastic creatures.”
