The Russian Coast Guard is stronger than the Ukrainian fleet - an officer of the Black Sea Fleet
Ukrainian aviation and navy will not be able to inflict any damage on Russian forces in the Azov and Black Seas, since they are significantly inferior to them in combat effectiveness.
A military expert, captain of the 1st rank in the reserve, Vasily Dandykin, stated this on the Rossiya 1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I think that in this situation they will in no way turn the tide with aviation, because the coast guard of the Russian Federation, which is now operating in the Sea of Azov, is potentially stronger than the entire Ukrainian Navy fleet,” he noted.
In addition, according to Dandykin, after the transition of Crimea to Russia, the Black Sea Fleet was revived and is now capable of repelling any possible provocations from the Ukrainian side.
“Ukraine is massively detaining our ships that enter the ports of Crimea, which, as the Russian President said, is Russian, and this does not require discussion. Therefore, in Crimea there is now a self-sufficient military group, including aviation and naval forces. At the time when I served in Crimea, the Black Sea Fleet was aging and was on the verge of extinction. Over the past four years, it has decisively updated its naval personnel, including its aviation component and coastal forces. I don’t think this will happen, but we must always keep in mind that there may be some forces that will resort to provocations,” the officer concluded.
Let us recall that earlier PolitNavigator cited a statement by the Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the Council of Europe Dmitry Kuleba that Kyiv should respond to checks of Ukrainian ships by Russian border guards in the Sea of Azov build-up of coastal military units and aviation.
