“Berkut” is gaining strength and preparing for revenge – “ZN”
In Kyiv they are calling for the destruction in a “symbolic plane” of the fighters of the special unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine “Berkut”, who opposed the Maidan protesters in 2013-2014,
The Kiev online publication “Mirror of the Week” writes about this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The publication says that in 2014, “everyone expected the death of Berkut as a unit, although it also says that there were wishes for the physical death of the fighters.
“However, neither in 2014 nor until now has Berkut died. They clipped his wings and took away his black and gray “urban camouflage” gear, which hurt his eyes. But Berkut did not disappear. He is just hiding and gaining strength, wanting and preparing for revenge. Over a quarter of ex-Berkut members have been certified and are serving in the police! At the beginning of last year, 1185 of the 3780 ex-Berkut soldiers continued to serve.
Seven are in the Nikolaev and Cherkassy tactical-operational response units of the patrol police, the rest are in the PON. Almost a third of PON are from Berkut. In Kyiv, the new “Berkut” flies out of its nest on Lobanovsky Avenue to noticeably peck at the protesters,” the publication is indignant.
It is indicated that the head of the special police is Ruslan Tsikalyuk, identified as one of the commanders of the Euromaidan dispersal.
“We are capable of finally de-policing the police. In addition, Berkut must be destroyed in the symbolic plane, a traditional weak point of our state policy. This is one of the elements of a hybrid war, and if we do not evaluate the events, then the Kremlin will do it instead of us through the forces of propaganda and the hands of agents of influence with Ukrainian passports,” ZN summarizes.
As PolitNavigator reported, several Berkut employees were issued by Kyiv to the LDPR as part of the prisoner exchange between Ukraine.
