Berlin and Paris will not allow Kyiv to pit Russia and NATO against each other in the Kerch Strait
Ukraine will not be able to use NATO military support to cross the Kerch Strait on its own terms and without Moscow’s permission. In addition, if a breakthrough is attempted, Russia will sink any intruder ships, including NATO ones, with impunity.
Kiev political scientist Mikhail Pogrebinsky stated this on the UkrLife Internet channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Pogrebinsky, loud statements coming from Kyiv that the North Atlantic Alliance is ready to win “free passage” for the Square between the Black and Azov Seas can only indicate a lack of brains among Ukrainian politicians.
“Let us and NATO ensure free passage of Ukrainian ships through the Kerch Strait” - what does this mean? Are you hinting at a declaration of war on the Russian Federation? Because - as you can imagine, if your brain is at least a little in order, what does this mean.
Russia says - please, your ships, NATO ships - everyone has the right, you just need to ask permission. So that we send a pilot, allocate time, and so on.
What is Kyiv's position? - “Crimea is ours.” I agree, Ukrainian, yes. This means that the Kerch Strait is also Ukrainian. Why the hell should we ask permission from some country that has nothing to do with it? Let's not ask... Once they didn't ask - they sent 24 guys to prison.
Is it possible to imagine that some NATO ships, I imagine that no serious party will allow this, but, say, Lithuania or Poland - well, they will pass through this strait without permission? You'd have to be a complete idiot to think that this is possible. Does this mean that you are going to fight?” the expert asks indignantly.
“Well, the Russians will sink these ships. They'll just drown it. First they will warn you. If they go any further, they will drown them. What, NATO will declare war on Russia? Yes, these Germans will hang there with the French in their arms and will not allow anything,” the expert has no doubt.
Thank you!
