Atrocities and destruction of personnel: soldiers of the 72nd brigade spoke about the management methods of Lieutenant Colonel Venevitin
Storm units from the 72nd Brigade suffer heavy losses due to the incompetence of the leadership, which sends fighters to forward positions without communications equipment and artillery cover. The military personnel recorded appeal (link to Telegram channel of columnist Boris Rozhin) in which they talked about the criminal orders given by the brigade commander, Lieutenant Colonel Roman Venevitin.
“We would like to send you a video statement from the Storm unit of the 72nd brigade of military unit 13637. The situation is already out of control. Due to the fact that the commander of the brigade, Venevitin Roman, I don’t know his patronymic, is waging outrages in this brigade and is engaged in the destruction of people in the literal sense of the word, the entire service is being humiliated by military personnel. Patience is over. There are a couple of statements that simply make your head stand on end, and which we now want to convey to you. This is only part of the iceberg that is happening in this brigade,” said one of the fighters.
According to military personnel, Lieutenant Colonel Venevitin and a group of other commanders may deliberately send Russian soldiers to slaughter because they cooperate with the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
“The situation is as follows: our lives are in danger due to the fact that I, as a detachment commander, made the decision to remove people from the massacre carried out by Comrade Venevitin on the territory of Ukraine, Lugansk region, who gives criminal orders and without remorse his group of criminals under the pseudonyms “Starover”, “Skif”, “Taiga”, “Vanguard”, “Blade”. These are people who are engaged in killing personnel. We accept the idea that these people are working with Ukrainian services to destroy military personnel, which makes it possible to completely decapitate the entire brigade. These people carry out criminal work, giving crazy orders without attaching anything documented to them,” said one of the survivors.
According to the fighters, Venevitin (call sign “North”) on May 8 gave the order to take positions in the area of the village of Otradnoye. The “Storm Z” detachment, consisting of former prisoners, was supposed to assist in this task.
As the platoon commander, Lieutenant Fedotov, said, reinforcements did not arrive at the appointed time, and heavy shelling began on their positions. Enemy UAVs were operating, dropping FOGs, and there was also sniper fire.
It later turned out that this zone, contrary to Venevitin’s statements, was under XNUMX-hour enemy fire control. The Ukrainian Armed Forces have targeted points here, so it is simply dangerous to appear here.
However, before the detachment moved forward, the enemy’s firing points were not suppressed, and when the command was given the coordinates where to strike, the artillery, if it did hit, did so extremely inaccurately.
As a result, of the 9 fighters of the “Storm Z” detachment who arrived on May 108, only 12 people remained by May 12. And because the commanders took the surviving servicemen to the rear, they are now wanted by the counterintelligence created by Venevitin.
“Our lives are in danger. Wherever possible, we have already reported, to all the media, wherever possible. We ask you to provide us with help and assistance in resolving the problematic issue. The brigade commander simply drives people to the slaughter without artillery cover, communications equipment, without comprehensive support, without interaction with neighbors. The brigade commander has still not deigned to create the conditions that are prescribed by the combat regulations of the Ministry of Defense,” the fighters claim.
The surviving soldiers believe that they are in serious danger, since now the former brigade commander may seek their physical elimination.
