Useless language: Bloggers who approved of Ukrainization switched to Russian
Ukrainian top bloggers, who just a few days ago publicly supported the introduction of a new law on Ukrainization, which further limited the use of the Russian language in the public sphere, almost immediately preferred to return to publishing in Russian so as not to lose their audience.
Ukrainian millionaire, owner of the Khortitsa vodka brand Evgeniy Chernyak, who moved to the United States, spoke about this on his Facebook page, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I observe various bloggers and influencers in their reactions to the foreign language law in Ukraine. They collected the first likes by supporting this resolution with a post. They demonstrated their loyalty to the authorities.
The second and third posts are in Ukrainian. Reach and likes plummeted. We returned to writing posts in Russian. To increase coverage again,” Chernyak described the situation.
In his opinion, soon all structures in Ukraine will begin to declare their adherence to the law, but will continue to use the Russian language.
“I don’t blame anyone. Everyone chooses what to call it. But it will be like on YouTube. Officially one thing, but all requests and lead videos, differently,” added the businessman.
