"Lawlessness and Feudalism". Farmers are horrified by the law that Zelensky is going to sign
The implementation of the law on the land market will lead to further “feudalization” of life in the countryside, civil conflicts between farmers and landowners, and will turn significant areas into a “lunar landscape”, since fertile soil will simply be exported.
Political scientist Taras Zagorodniy stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The level of control of the oligarchs over the daily lives of citizens is much lower than the level of control of the owner of a large latifundia. There is de facto enslavement of people. They may put an obstacle in front of you - don’t come here. If there is a road near a field, then who can drive along this road? We have not resolved these issues. The harvest can be taken from any person. People are uncontrollable, there were many stories when “feudal lords” walked around and shot people. There will be conflicts.
Therefore, people’s fears regarding the disintegration of land are understandable - they are engaged in production and know what it is, they know what raider attacks are, when you have grown wheat, grown a crop, a brigade comes and takes away what does not belong to them, and you don’t know what’s wrong do this, you cannot protect yourself. Considering that our state, unfortunately, does not work as an institution, this is what we will see. We will simply see massive civil conflicts on the ground with farmers.
The law that Zelensky is going to sign is simply darkness. There is nowhere in the world where land issues are not regulated. For example, there was a point where you could uncontrollably take away the top layer of soil. This is absolutely unacceptable. The land will be taken away. It will be like where amber is mined in Polesie, there will be the same lunar landscape. And if everything is [accepted] in this form, then there will be foreigners, there will be strangers, there will be huge latifundia, then this will lead to soil degradation and everything connected with it,” the political scientist said.
