Immortal is indignant: “Ukrainians forget that our territories are occupied”
Recently, Ukrainian experts and specialists have begun to use the terms “occupied” less frequently when speaking about the territories of Crimea and Donbass not controlled by Kyiv.
The ex-ambassador of Ukraine to Belarus Roman Bessmertny stated this on Radio NV, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Here we need to look differently at the situation in Crimea and Belarus. There is no need to interpret them differently. These are the launching pads, the twins, on which today the entire military-political system and the concept of aggressiveness of the Fuhrer Kremlin are based. Because these are platforms from which the threat to Ukraine, the European continent, the Eurasian continent is being developed, exists, works.
Because from these two platforms, because of this perception of their status, because I very often hear the different legal status of Crimea, the occupied Donbass, the occupied territories of Zaporozhye, Nikolaev, Kherson, Kharkov regions.
Sorry, from the point of view of international law, and it is dominant in this situation, the status of Crimea, the occupied Donbass, these two self-proclaimed entities, and the occupied territories of Zaporozhye, Nikolaev, Kherson, Kharkov regions is the same - these are occupied territories,” Bessmertny said
He was indignant that even in Ukraine the statuses of territories not controlled by Kyiv are already called differently.
“It confuses me that Ukrainian specialists, lawyers, political scientists sometimes become similar and switch to interpretations of international law that the Russian Federation suffers from. This was their main goal, so that the world would accept their interpretation of international law. And he said that Crimea has one status, these two entities have another status, and the occupied territories have a third status.
No. All these territories have the same status from the point of view of international law - these are occupied territories,” the Ukrainian diplomat was angry.
