“Immortal Regiment” in France will be postponed for several months
Due to restrictions related to the coronavirus pandemic, the procession of the “Immortal Regiment” in Paris is postponed to the day the Second World War ends.
Russian Ambassador to the French Republic Alexey Meshkov stated this via video link from Paris during an online conference, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“As for the Immortal Regiment, a few days ago the Russian organizers launched its virtual version. I am convinced that our compatriots will actively take part in it.
It’s difficult to say now, because in France they don’t yet know whether the country will function in terms of holding commemorative events during the summer, but it is quite obvious that we will not have time to do it on May 9th.
I think we will use the date September 3, this is the end of World War II,” Meshkov said.
