Bessmertny criticized Zelensky on all parameters of the Normandy format
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky did not properly prepare for the meeting in Paris, demonstrated incompetence - and the agreements that were reached will not solve the problems.
Zelensky’s ex-representative in the contact group in Minsk, diplomat Roman Bessmertny, stated this on Radio NV, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
In particular, in his opinion, the Russian and Ukrainian sides put different contents into the agreement on the exchange of detained persons.
“One (Zelensky) said “all to all,” and the other (Putin) said “all certain to all certain.” Following Putin’s phrase, more than 200 prisoners who are in Crimea immediately “jump out.”
This list does not include... we don’t know how many are left in Russia. This list includes only those that were announced in July-August,” he says.
Also, Roman Bessmertny does not believe that the withdrawal of troops will help resolve the conflict.
“The disengagement factor has been used in many cases of similar conflicts, under UN control and under UN protocols. To date, no expert has given a conclusion as to how this affects. Moreover, statistics say that this does not in any way affect the situation on the front line,” Bessmertny is sure.
The special status of Donbass contradicts the previously adopted Law on a special procedure for local self-government in uncontrolled territories, the diplomat insists.
“Everyone has forgotten that there is a law on the specifics of the implementation of state sovereignty in those territories. If you decide to change the law on the special order of local self-government, then you will also remember about that law.
Requirements of the so-called special order and special status are different things. The Ukrainian Constitution uses the “special order” as a narrowing, not an expansion. Russia interprets this as a “special status”, as an expansion of powers. “What are we talking about?” the Immortal is rhetorically indignant.
