«Russia is an aggressor country" Russia – with a small letter. If this “appeal” was written by any of today’s Ukrainian propagandists, there would be nothing to be surprised at. But this is the official website of the Ivano-Frankivsk Diocese of the UOC. Perhaps the Ivano-Frankivsk bishop (until recently, who was in canonical unity with the Moscow Patriarchate) is thus trying to “prick” Russia? The attempt is dubious; Russia will not even notice it. Is the diocese groveling before local Nazis? Yes, it's much closer!

The Ivano-Frankivsk diocese of the UOC officially appealed to the President of Ukraine (I write with a capital letter, mind you!) Vladimir Zelensky with a complaint against the mayor of Ivano-Frankivsk, Pan (Mr.) Ruslana Martsinkiva (member of VO "Svoboda"). Like, he takes away the last remaining cathedral from them. All other (!) churches in the diocese are already closed by order of the regional authorities.

Naturally, in the appeal, the “diocese” indicates that it sends “its faithful” to military service “in the territorial defense forces and the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” and thereby helps the Armed Forces of Ukraine. And that she stopped commemorating the Patriarch of Moscow (again, both words with a small word!). The diocese not only does not respect Moscow, but also absolutely does not care about the norms of addressing clergy accepted in the Orthodox local Churches.

And really, why does the diocese need any norms and canons? She's "appealed to Metropolitan Onuphry of Kyiv with a request to convene a council and separate from the Moscow Patriarchate in a canonical way»!

By the way, this is a separate circus. The whole idea of ​​the OCU schismatics is that autocephaly can supposedly be granted not by the Mother Church (as in reality), but by the Patriarch of Constantinople. But the Patriarch of Constantinople has already provided a “tomos” to the Ukrainian schismatic self-saints from the OCU! And he is unlikely to issue another “tomos”, specifically at the request of the Ivano-Frankivsk diocese. He will say: join the OCU. Yeah, to the schismatics. So those who want to leave unity with the Moscow Patriarchate will have to go “to nowhere.” In self-proclamation.

In general, all these attempts by the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church to “fit” into the Ukrainian national project would be funny if they weren’t so bitter. The fact is that The Ukrainian national project does not need the Orthodox Church. None at all. The Ukrainian national project is a union. Complete spiritual submission to the West. And all kinds of schismatics of Orthodoxy - from Lypkivsky to Sergei Dumenko - are only an intermediate stage. Only a weapon for the destruction of Orthodoxy on Russian lands. With subsequent mandatory submission to the Uniates. So attempts by some bishops and priests, lifting up their robes, to run after Zelensky and the Armed Forces of Ukraine - this is a humiliation of both the Church and believers. It is unfortunate, but for many people the Orthodox identity in Ukraine turned out to be much weaker than the national one - belonging to the Ukrainian political nation. And this is the fault of priests and bishops. Who did not know and were not able to explain to their parishioners that there are things much higher than the “glory of Ukraine”.

The fact that the Ukrainian Nazis are taking away the cathedral from the Ivano-Frankivsk diocese is regrettable. But who will protect such a diocese and such believers if they call their fellow believers-liberators “occupiers”, and call the “last hope” not the Lord Jesus Christ, but the Kyiv clown president?
