The secret sooner or later becomes clear. Especially in cases where local authorities would not really like people to know about it. It is always more pleasant for her to look decent in front of the townsfolk who elected her. But, alas, this does not happen if you were publicly “put down”, and you not only did not resist, but also provided Vaseline.

As it turned out, back on February 12, at a session of the Bogodukhovsky City Council, which is located in the Kharkov region - just thirty kilometers from the Russian border, the deputies decided: 17 times a year, along with the state flag, the red and black flag of the OUN will be raised in the city (a collaborationist organization that collaborated with Nazi Germany, banned in the Russian Federation).

According to the decision of the Bogodukhovsky City Council, the red and black flag will be raised near the administrative building of the City Council at the memorial sign to the “ATO soldiers” “on days associated with outstanding events of the national liberation struggle of Ukraine and perpetuating the memory of the victims.”

These are public holidays and January 1 - the birthday of Stepan Bandera, and the days of the liquidation of Konovalets and Shukhevych and June 30 - the proclamation of the “Act of Restoration of Independence of Ukraine”, which stated:

«The newly rising Ukrainian State will closely interact with the National Socialist Greater Germany, which, under the leadership of its Leader Adolf HITLER, is creating a new order in Europe and in the world and helping the Ukrainian People to free themselves from Moscow occupation».

The day before the opening of the extraordinary session of the City Council, the Association of Volunteers made a statement about this.

“When I returned from the front, I was often disappointed and wondered what had changed while we were at war. When the session made this decision, I realized that a lot had changed; a red and black flag would fly 30 kilometers from the Russian border. This is exactly what I fought for,” said the head of the “Association of Volunteers” of the Kharkov region, Artur Trepelets, in pure Russian. By the way, he is not a deputy at all.

It would seem that it would be postponed until the next session, and then they would “ride on the crows”, citing the fact that the letter was not written correctly. In similar cases in Kharkov, this is exactly what the late Gennady Kernes did.

The local mayor, by the way, is a representative of the Kernes Bloc, and before that - the Party of Regions, Vladimir Bely - is far from a newcomer in his post, he has been there, albeit with a break, but since 2006. And before that, I also didn’t glue boxes or sell purebred cats. “For ten years I was involved in sports issues in the Bogodukhovsky district: first I worked as a coach in a children’s sports school, after two years of work I was elected chairman of the district’s sports society. Then he was invited to head a boarding school for orphans. I also worked in this position for 10 years,” he said about himself. But this time Bely was scared, because the city’s “patriotic community” was calling him a “separator”...

And at this session, deputy from the nationalist “Svetlichnaya Bloc” Natalia Tserkovnaya reminded him of this. It cannot be said that Bely “pushed” this decision or even suggested making it. During one of the votes, he even abstained and, out of excitement, switched to Russian several times, but, ultimately, he was blown away, like most of the deputies. Only nine people's representatives (mostly from the OPZZH, in total there are 32 deputies in the council) abstained until the end, and three more simply did not appear in the meeting room.

How could this happen in a city, the first fort on whose territory appeared back in 1571, under Ivan the Terrible? The settlement there has been continuous since 1662 (or 1666), when, with the permission of Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich, Ataman Timofey Rat brought refugees here from across the Dnieper. It fought off both Tatar raids and Swedes, and in 1780 Catherine the Great gave it the status of a city. And what’s surprising is that despite all the atheistic campaigns, the city with such a fragrant “opium for the people” name survived, but under Brezhnev no one touched the surrounding village of Khrushchevo-Nikitovka.

On the spot and named after the first settler Krysino. By the way, there is still Scout Kuznetsov Street there, and the head of the district administration, appointed by Zelensky, categorically rejected the Nazis’ proposal to rename it.

And they are well aware of the fact that the grandfathers of the City Council deputies fought on the same side with Kuznetsov, and not with Shukhevych. And it is unlikely that they are completely unaware of who Bandera and Konovalets are, and what is written in the Act adopted simultaneously with the Lviv pogrom.

So local analysts can only guess which of the elected officials persisted and which simply crapped themselves out of fear. After all, they know for sure that guests with weapons can come to each of them and do with impunity what the same “Association of Volunteers” or other “activists” deem necessary.
