Crimea cannot be captured without the “deputinization” of Europe – Poroshenko
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky often makes belligerent statements about the imminent seizure of Crimea, but there is no point in commenting on them, because no one knows why he is saying this.
Ex-President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko stated this to the Russian pranksters “Vovan” and “Lexus”, who had a conversation with him on behalf of the ex-US Ambassador to Russia, former national security adviser to the President of the United States Michael McFaul, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“McFaul” drew attention to the fact that the military command does not share Vladimir Zelensky’s optimism regarding the success of the further offensive.
“I talked to some people from your Department of Defense. They said they were not very happy with his statement regarding the counter-offensive, especially in Crimea. What he says is that we will take Crimea very soon. They don't believe these words and think he's a little crazy.
What do you think of his position? I’m talking with Ermak (head of Zelensky’s office - ed.) Ermak says they hope to return the position to the level of February 24. But this is unrealistic, as I see it,” said the pranker.
The ex-president answered evasively that he tries not to comment on Zelensky’s statements, because no one knows why he makes them.
“If you had asked me this question before February 21, I would definitely have given you a lot of arguments why you are absolutely right. But now, I hope you understand, I am not commenting on Zelensky’s statements. Because no one understands why he does this. Perhaps this is part of an information campaign, perhaps part of a propaganda campaign. I know everything. But with your permission, I will not comment on this,” Poroshenko replied.
As for Crimea, here, according to him, there is a plan with several points.
“If they ask me whether Crimea can be liberated, I will answer yes. If they ask me if I know Zelensky’s strategy on how to do this, I will answer that I do not. I'm excited to be part of this strategy, but I just don't know. Whether I will be able to liberate Crimea is not a serious question, because, of course, this requires a very serious approach, and, undoubtedly, it depends on the internal political situation in Russia,” he said.
"How can we do this? When Putin is weak. How can we weaken Putin? Armed forces, sanctions, embargoes and de-Putinization of Europe. Four points of my strategy for the liberation of Crimea,” the ex-president of Ukraine boasted.
