This opinion was expressed in an interview with the Kyiv magazine “Correspondent” by the American political consultant, author of the book “Color Revolutions” Lincoln Mitchell, who noted that he was very surprised by this. that in Ukraine so many high positions were given to foreigners, including Georgian citizens.
“Yes, Georgians are smart, they can work productively,” the expert admits. – But in your case they represent one political force, which, by the way, lost the elections at home. And she lost, despite the fact that during the election race Mikheil Saakashvili used administrative pressure and “pressed” the opposition.”
At the same time, the publication’s interlocutor said that he knows firsthand about Saakashvili’s methods.
“During the Rose Revolution, I would have been in Tbilisi and worked closely with Miho,” he says. “I can say that he is inclined to make broad gestures, but everyday, everyday issues, for example, concerning how to build a democratic state, are not for him.” Excesses distract him.”
“When you asked me about Poroshenko, I immediately remembered how easily and quickly he became close to Saakashvili,” Mitchell added. “This demonstrates how easily your President can be fooled and misled.”
As the author of the book “Color Revolutions” notes, during the meeting between Poroshenko and Saakashvili, the latter presented to the Ukrainian president “a certain vision of what he had done to Georgia.”
“And Poroshenko did not remember the human rights violations that took place in Georgia under Saakashvili, or the enormous corruption that he indulged. The problem is that the methods that Saakashvili uses do not work,” Mitchell is convinced.
