Russia will have to return all strategically important territories of Ukraine under its control, since it is already obvious that no one can guarantee that they will not be used to the detriment of Russian interests.
Russian political scientist Alexey Martynov said this on air on the Komsomolskaya Pravda radio, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The practice of today’s Ukrainian scam shows that if we let go of all these territories from our field, and refuse historical responsibility for the fate of peoples, which in itself is impossible, then someone must give guarantees that they will not become anti-Russia, and will not be springboards for aggressive actions by third parties,” Martynov said.
However, the political scientist emphasized that no one can give such guarantees, so Russia will have to return all strategically important regions to it under control.
“Who will give such guarantees? Nobody but ourselves, when we push all these threats away from our own borders.
Therefore, the answer here is obvious - we need to restore our influence in all territories, without unnecessary sentimentality,” he concluded.
