Without Russia and China, Motor Sich turns into scrap metal
If the Ukrainian state nationalizes Motor Sich, it will not be able to ensure the operation of the enterprise, and it will very soon stop and lose staff.
Economic expert Yuri Atamanyuk stated this on air on the KRT TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“There is no Russian market and there never will be. Let's say we nationalize - there will be no Chinese. Who will invest in the enterprise? Who will be the consumer of the final product? As a result, the plant will be shut down. And what today costs 3,5 billion dollars, where there is an opportunity to invest and develop, the possibility of dialogue with superpowers to achieve the interests of Ukraine, will quickly turn into metal.
And it turns into scrap metal in all directions.
Two years ago, there was a boom in car manufacturing in Ukraine and a shortage of cars. I talked with one of the owners of Dneprovagonmash and asked why they didn’t open a second shift. He said that they wanted to open a second shift, but they started calling qualified workers, primarily welders, and they were all in Poland.
So it is here. Motor Sich is about technology, but above all it is about people. There must be science nearby, there must be production operators who understand how to make an engine out of a pile of metal, to whom to sell this engine and get money into the bank account. These people will leave tomorrow because the plant is not working - they will be bought out, they will retire, the new ones will not study, there is no stability.
Everything is lost - when such enterprises are closed, science is closed, science is closed - education is closed. Today, technical and mathematical specialties are not in demand, we are degrading. Today the competition is for foreign languages, because this is an opportunity to find a job, and for hotel management institutes. That is, we get higher education in order to go to Turkey and stay in a hotel so as not to pick strawberries in Portugal,” Atamanyuk said.
On March 4, the head of the Servant of the People faction, David Arakhamia, said that a bill on the nationalization of the Motor Sich enterprise would be submitted to the Verkhovna Rada next week.
