“Without SP-2 we will not be able to heat kindergartens and schools” - Member of the Bundestag
Berlin needs Russian gas, because Germany is shutting down nuclear and coal energy and cannot cope without gas.
Waldemar Gerdt, a member of the international committee of the Bundestag, announced this broadcast on the Rossiya 1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Of course, it’s possible that Nord Stream 2 will be thrown into trouble. But, I want you to understand, without Nord Stream 2 we simply will not be able to simply heat kindergartens and schools. We are leaving nuclear and coal energy, we want to produce electric cars and we are abandoning cheap, environmentally friendly gas. We can argue about this as much as we like, but when the people are once left without heat and light, any government will think ten times,” said the German politician.
He noted that Germany needs to establish friendly relations with Russia and do everything so as not to escalate the situation.
“Finally, I see the sprouts of what we sowed, and God grant that something grows from this, and we again begin to be friends with Russia, as it has always been. I know that whenever we understood each other, humanity always prospered from this, but as soon as we began to quarrel, it was not easy and unsweetening for humanity. Everything needs to be done so that we don’t start fighting again,” Gerdt concluded.
Let us recall that earlier the US stated that Nord Stream 2 will be completed, since this project supports a number of German political forces and businesses.
