Without a “grain deal”, the world will no longer need Ukraine – Kiev expert
Kyiv needs to continue the “grain deal” not only to support its own economy, but also to ensure further supplies of NATO weapons.
Ukrainian political strategist Alexander Kochetkov spoke about this on the video blog of journalist Alexander Shelest, as reported by the PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Grain Deal 2” from the point of view of the logic of war is, of course, abnormal. Either we trade or we fight.
But from the point of view of saving at least some remnants of the economy for Ukraine, this is important.
And secondly, a very important point - we need to answer the world, why do they need Ukraine? They invest and help. For the sake of democracy? How much does democracy cost in the market today? Yes, somehow it’s not worth the price...
This is why Ukraine is needed, what does it give? At least grain, at least to Africa. At least some benefit. It will be possible for a politician to go to the podium and say: “We don’t just help, but we solve problems. There is a benefit."
At one time, Churchill agreed with Roosevelt to help with weapons; in return, he also gave the Americans access to British naval bases.
This “grain deal” is what we can offer in exchange for the help we have,” Kochetkov added.
Let us recall that Russia extended the grain deal, despite the deception of the West by blocking Russian exports, as well as the use of the sea route from the ports of Ukraine to attack Sevastopol and the Crimean Bridge.
One of the reasons cited by experts was the need to ensure the interest of Turkey, which receives income from the deal and also remains a window for Russia to receive a number of goods under sanctions.
