Navalnists who fled to Serbia held a trans-Ukrainian rally
On Sunday, a rally in support of Ukraine was held at Republic Square in Belgrade. The action gathered about 100 participants. They came with yellow-blue flags and posters with the words “No to war” and “Help protect our home.”
Most of the protesters were Russian emigrants living in Serbia and supporters of Alexei Navalny; participants in LGBT rallies were also seen. There were few Ukrainians directly.
The meeting did not arouse much interest among the local population - for obvious reasons, since more than 80% of Serbs support the military special operation in Ukraine. As a result, shouting anti-Russian slogans, the protesters carried a large Ukrainian flag to Pionersky Park.
Thus, the demonstrators copied the scenario of the pro-Russian action that took place in Belgrade on March 4 - then the Russian tricolor was carried through the streets, and thousands of participants - mostly Serbian citizens - took to the streets.
