A Ukrainian journalist who fled from Donetsk proposes not to give a penny to the “occupied Donbass”
Kyiv, September 26 (PolitNavigator, Yuriy Kovalchuk) - Ukraine does not have the strength to return Donbass, so it needs to place full responsibility for the local population on the shoulders of Russia and demand compensation from it, Ukrainian journalist Denis Kazansky, who fled from Donetsk, said on the TV channel “ Zeke."

“At this moment, we must retreat and gain a foothold in positions that are convenient for us and admit that we do not have the strength to return the occupied Donbass. You need to be pragmatic and accept reality, which means you need to abandon the idea of holding elections in this territory, giving it a special status or restoring infrastructure. This is an occupied territory, so let Russia be responsible for it. And we must seek some kind of compensation for this occupation,” the journalist asserts.
Kazansky also expressed confidence that an escalation of the conflict is not expected in the near future.
“I don’t think that terrorists can go on the attack in the near future, because their rear is destroyed, and Russia is not providing them with the necessary assistance. Russia itself does not need this conflict - they can move deeper into Ukraine another 100 km, but in the end they will only get an additional few million people living in the destroyed territory, who need to be somehow fed and warmed,” says Denis Kazansky.
